I am a comics scholar and writer. My ongoing practice-based PhD project intervenes in the auteurism pervading comics culture by proposing that collaboration effectuates negotiation of artistic identity. My approach is interdisciplinary and includes theory from cultural studies, visual culture, literary criticism, creative writing, anthropology, and fine art history. My research interests include comics production, artistic identity, and the dynamics of collaboration.

My writings include short stories and a few ongoing comics projects – but my main interest and instincts remain attuned to longform prose fiction. My creative makeup contains “literary”, horror, sci-fi, fantasy, and video game influences. I also currently edit and write for indie publisher Thakethi to produce children’s books in Dhivehi, the language of the Maldives.
